In the system, radio frequency mirrors are placed around transmit antenna elements to create distinct channel perturbations, which is specifically referred to as mirror activation patterns to carry additional information bits. Specifically, the system transmission rate and the average pairwise error probability and energy consumption gain are derived and the accuracy of the analytical derivations is verified by Monte Carlo simulations. The results show that in the proposed scheme, not only the transmission rate is improved, but also the bit error rate and energy consumption are decreased compared with single input multiple output-media based modulation-SWIPT, spatial modulation-media based modulation-SWIPT. The bit error rate is slightly higher that of the spatial modulation-SWIPT system under the same transmission rate. However, the required number of transmit antennas is largely reduced, so that the hardware complexity, form factor and cost are reduced. %U https://journal.bupt.edu.cn/EN/10.13190/j.jbupt.2018-188
