A performance theoretical model of underwater wireless optical communication under the interference of environmental noise light is proposed. An experimental platform of underwater wireless optical communication of 852nm wavelength under environmental noise light interference is built to verify the performance of the model. The results show that the theoretical model results match well with the experimental results, and it proves that the communication performance and link range of underwater wireless optical communication can be effectively improved by employing filters under the interference of environmental noise light. The Q factor gain of 5.21dB can be obtained through interference filter in experiment. The theoretical results show that the transmission link range can be extended by 34.8% with interference filter employed in quadrature phase shift keying modulation format. The theoretical analysis model can provide guidance on underwater wireless optical communication link under environmental noise light interference using different communication bands and modulation formats. %U https://journal.bupt.edu.cn/EN/10.13190/j.jbupt.2021-264
