Abstract: Benefiting from abundant orbital resources and lower launching costs, low earth orbit (LEO) satellite Internet has entered a period of fast development. To achieve the vision of full-time, full-area communication in 6G and satisfy the demand for low-latency, high-availability space information services, the LEO satellite Internet is expected to evolve from private protocols based communication to terrestrial-satellite converged communication, which can supports the direct connection between mobile phones and satellites, and eventually move towards the integration of communication, navigation and remote sensing. The discussion includes related network architecture and key technologies, and application scenarios are also introduced.

Key words: LEO satellite network, satellite-terrestrial converged communication, the integration of communication, navigation and sensing
